AP: 6 dead, 18 sustain injuries in reactor blast

Anakapalle: Six died and as many as 18 workers sustained injuries when a reactor blasted at a company at AP Special Economic Zone at Atchutapuram on Wednesday in Anakapalle district.

After the incident at Escientia, the injured were rushed for treatment. Around 50 workers were present at the time of accident.

The cause of the blast is not immediately known. An enquiry has been ordered. Anakapalle Collector Vijaya Krishnan and SP Deepika rushed to the spot on hearing about the incident.

Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha and Anarkalle MP CM Ramesh expressed concern over the incident and asked the authorities to ensure proper medical care to the injured. Meanwhile, YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy demanded high level probe into the incident.
